Valerie
Compton
has been a successful competitive athlete for over 35
years. Using her experience in track & field and competitive tennis as well as
her knowledge of weight loss and clean eating, she built a highly successful
personal training business in
Connecticut
and NYC. After moving to Albuquerque in the 1990’s Valerie formed several
women’s relay teams that competed in and placed in every major running and
multi-sport event they entered. Her teams have won or placed in the Duke City
Marathon, Mt. Taylor Winter Quadrathlon, Las Cruces Marathon,
and local duathlons. Valerie has been educating and motivating others to reach
their fitness goals for almost 20 years. Her strong focus, energy, and
commitment to excellence is passed on to all she comes in contact with. She
holds certifications from Polestar, Power Pilates, Pilates for Golf, AFAA, Heart
Zones, and Spinning. She has studied nutrition for weight loss as well as for
athletic performance and practices what she preaches. She regularly travels to
New
York, Miami, Los Angeles, and Scottsdale to study the latest trends in the
fitness industry, to keep her clients challenged, motivated and always reaching
for more. In 2008 Valerie developed the hugely successful BARREFUSIONTM
a one hour workout designed to burn fat while tightening and elongating the
muscle to build a lean sculpted look.
In 2009 Valerie was voted "Best of the City - Personal Trainer" by the readers of Abq The Magazine!
August 2011 Valerie won 1st Place Masters Division in the La Luz Trail Run and 6th female finnisher overall with a time of 1:59. Nine miles with an elevation gain of over 3,700 feet. The La Luz Trail Run has been voted one of the 12 hardest races in North America!

Sonya Ewan has nearly a decade of experience as a cyclist and several additional years as a mountain biker and former co-ed ice hockey player. She was profiled in "Women Who Move" for Her Sports + Fitness magazine in 2007. A lifetime ambassador of health and fitness, she completed CNM's Fitness Technician program in April 2011. She is Spinning and Group Fitness-certified and has been an instructor for BodyLanguage since April 2009. Sonya holds a bachelor's degree in psychology.

Camila McNown has a deep passion for exercise and health and loves helping others achieve their fitness goals. She began working as a physical therapy assistant, which ignited her interest in fitness. After three years, she transitioned from physical therapy into personal training and group fitness in order to be on the preventative side of wellness. She loves to help people achieve their fitness goals as she is on her own path towards a career health- she just applied to medical school. Camila holds a bachelors degree from Cal Poly in Anatomy/Physiology, is a NASM certified personal trainer, and holds certifications in group fitness including "Spinning." She currently teaches cycling classes, boot camps, and of course, Barre Basic. When she isn't training or teaching, Camila enjoys riding in century bike rides, snowboarding and snowshoeing, hiking, and spending time with her dogs.
